Class Descriptions
Tower
The Pilates Tower Class combines mat work with tower equipment - including arm springs, leg springs, a roll-down bar, and a push-through bar - providing a comprehensive and effective way to stabilize, align, and strengthen your body. This class is designed to leave you feeling challenged, strong, flexible, and balanced. Multi-level.
Half and Half
This unique class combines the best of both worlds with a dynamic blend of Reformer and Tower apparatus. Half the class is done on the Tower, half is done on the Reformer. All levels.
Reformer Foundations
Required for all new Thrive students, this class introduces the foundational work of the Pilates method on the Reformer. It is designed for those new to Pilates, individuals recovering from injury, pre- and postnatal clients, as well as experienced practitioners wishing to refine their technique. Emphasis is placed on alignment, breath, and control as students learn the fundamental principles that support safe and effective progress. Exercises are performed at a slower, more deliberate pace to cultivate body awareness, precision, and confidence in the work.
Reformer 1
This class is for experienced beginners and long-time practitioners without injury or limitation. These classes aim to build strength, stamina, coordination, and confidence and begin building into the intermediate work. Inversions, kneeling and balancing exercises are to be expected. Reformer experience at Thrive is required.
Reformer 2
Permission required, with a minimum of 10 Reformer 1 classes. Building on the foundation of Reformer 1, this class moves further into the Classical Reformer order and begins incorporating elements of the intermediate work. The pace and exercises are more demanding, requiring refined transitions, coordination, and control. Students continue to develop strength, stamina, and confidence while deepening their understanding of the Pilates method and preparing for full intermediate work. Inversions, prone (belly-down), and balance-focused exercises are expected at this level.
Intermediate Reformer
Permission is required, with a minimum of six months of consistent weekly experience in Reformer 1 and 2 classes and/or private instruction. Designed for experienced Thrive students ready to elevate their practice, this athletic class moves at a fast pace and works through the full Intermediate Classical Reformer order. Students are expected to know the exercise order, names, and spring settings as they explore advanced variations, including inversions and balance-focused work, while continuing to build strength, coordination, control, and flow.
